In an unexpected move, Shanghai Automotive (SAIC) has officially launched its range of MG Cars in Belarus. The four major models to go on sale are the MG 550, MG 750, MG TF and MG 3SW. Possibly the most significant of the four, is the MG 550.
The MG 750, is a re-badged Roewe, but the larger Rover 75-based car. Prices start from US$28,900, and comes fitted with a plethora of standard equipment, including Xenon Headlights and a fully integrated Satellite Navigation system.
The 550 is a re-badged Roewe 550, not the MG6 that was shown at the Shanghai Motor Show earlier in the year, although the two are almost identical under the skin. The MG 550 starts from just US$17,900 in 1.8 non-turbo form, while the top of the range 160bhp 1.8T will cost US$25,350.
The MG TF is much like the UK-built MG TF135, and the 3SW is what remains of the Rover Streetwise, which has been selling slower than expected in China.
